TRANSPORTATION OF PRISONERS

Hello to all my friends, today I am going to show a small film made at the opening of my exhibition at the Marquês de Pombal Museum, although you do not understand what I say, you can see some features of these miniatures.

I will also show some more progress in the construction of the prisoner van, specifically the gear assemblies, Lower and upper, the so-called 5th wheel too, as the photos better explain this work, they are here, I hope you like to see the compilation.

Turning of the two wheels that make up the steering system.

Location drawing of the 5th wheel of the lower set.

5th wheel assembly at the top of the set.

Assembly process of the upper and lower assembly of the front wheels.

Provisional shipyard to assemble this set of gear assemblies.
This is the steel coil of watchmaker's springs, to make the suspension spring bundles, it is 0.5 mm thick by 5 mm wide.
As you can see, the 4 wheels already have the first primer layer and the hardware for the various rims is also finished, we still need to paint.

prisoner van

As I promised in the last message, today I will start the construction of the cellular van.

It is important to talk a little about the history that is associated with this vehicle, it is of French origin, from the 19th century, it was used by the Portuguese prison services until the middle of the 20th century. 7 of these carriages were bought in Paris, France for transportation of prisoners, this unit was in the prison services of Coimbra, having been completely restored and rebuilt to be put on display at the National Coach Museum, where it has been for a few days. It has 6 individual cells and space for two guards prisoners inside, and was taken by 4 mules. As I like to start my miniatures by building the wheels, here I send some photos of this work, I hope you like it and appreciate it.

The various phases of wheel design and construction.

Homemade construction artefact to bend wheel rims.

The spokes make an angle of 5 degrees in the hub socket.

The wheels ready for the first primer painting.

This was the state in which this vehicle was found in the prison penitentiary of Coimbra, before being recovered and restored, currently on display at the National Coach Museum.

Transport of prisoners,

Hello to all my friends, I wish you are well in the face of this situation that we live in and affects everyone.

It was my intention, when I finished the Citroen Torpedo, to finish building miniatures of coaches and coaches, for various reasons, among them the lack of space available to store my entire collection, and the great lack of material needed for this type of construction . However, several friends of mine who visited the National Coach Museum, were delighted with a cell carriage for the transportation of prisoners, which was used by the prison services at the time, it was all restored and put on display in the museum recently, so many friends of mine encouraged me to make a replica of this cell phone, which really has a very interesting and futuristic silhouette for the time it was built, in the 19th century. with graceful and aerodynamic curves.

Here I leave some pictures of it so that you can see and admire this unique wonder and in excellent condition as you can see.

And then this will be my new project soon, it will also be a way to help pass this time of confinement that we are subject to, I hope you like it.
